What we are working on?

Die by the Blade is a hardcore PVP  sword-fighting game with one-hit-kills mechanic, local & online multiplayer set in samurai-punk universe. Our team?
We are compact, agile and highly skilled team of developers who love games and want to create fun experiences for players around the world. We are working with latest and most advanced game engines available (UE4, Unity) as well as bleeding edge modeling and animation software (Max, Maya, ZBrush, Blender, Cascadeur).

Character animator

As animator you will have great understanding and strong passion for creating both realistic and stylized animations. In this role you will be working alongside experienced developers creating high profile games and bring our characters to life. You must be able to thrive in challenging environment with aptitude for critical thinking and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Creating high quality full body keyframe or motion capture fighting animations based on collaboration with combat system designer
  • Re-create poses and moves from reference images or videos
  • Produce animation visualizations and present concepts
  • Pro-active fixing of animation bugs and issues
  • Working with motion capture team to record animations on high level of quality
  • Setting up controllers and systems for animation on UE4 skeleton
  • Animation retargeting and motion capture cleanup
Your profile:
  • Skilled in technical aspects of 3D animations as well as principles of great animations
  • Excelent awarenes of timing, weight and composition
  • Good understanding of human anatomy and mechanics of human body movement
  • Proficient in at least one of these tools: Maya, Max, Blender or Motion Builder
  • Can quickly learn new tools and is able to use abstractions from one software in another
  • Is able to comunicate ideas clearly, consistently and effectively
  • Is able to collaborate with creative team providing and receiving feedback
  • Passion for creating games and absolute determination to improve own skills

Character artist

As a 3D character artist you will have a great understanding and a strong passion for creating both realistic and stylized 3D characters. You will be working alongside animators, game designers and programmers creating high profile games. Your role will be bringing our characters from concepts to 3D world making sure they look awesome and polished.

  • Authoring materials in Substance Designer
  • Texturing in Substance Painter

  • Propose and execute performance optimization on static meshes
Your profile:
  • Skilled in technical aspects of 3D modeling as well as principles of modeling pipeline
  • Excelent understanding of light, color and materials
  • Understanding of optimization techniques commonly used in games
  • Proficient in Substance Painter and Substance Designer
  • Proficient in at least two of these tools: ZBrush, Maya, Max, Blender

Environment artist

As a 3D artist you will have a great eye for beautiful environments. You will use your knowledge of light, composition, materials and shapes to create spaces in which players can immerse themselves. Together with level designer you will create unique environments which will be visited by thousands of players from around the world.

Programmer

As a programmer you will have a great understanding of software development. Your job will be to bring life into game systems, making sure that everything works as it should. You will use your programming skills to create highly efficient code for networking, game systems and more.

  • Crating reliable, highly efficient code in C++ as well as UE4 Blueprints
  • Implementing, bugfixing and testing networking systems
  • Recognize, analyze, and solve various issues in engine or/and game code
  • Perform pro-active analysis of code, propose performance improvements and implement said improvements if approved
Your profile:
  • High critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Ability to understand and perform abstraction on various game concepts
  • Profficient in C/C++
  • Excelent understanding of OOP and its principles
